About Us

The Canterbury Malaysian Society Inc was established in July 1992 by a group of energetic Malaysian who live in Canterbury, goodwill and maintain the cultural diversity, which Malaysia offers from its mixed ethnic people. It was also set up to assist and assimilate new Malaysian migrants into the New Zealand culture.
We have contributed to various charities in New Zealand as part of our contribution to the New Zealand society. Our members are predominantly Malaysians but we do have a number of non-Malaysian members as well.
We celebrate the main festivals of Chinese New Year,
Deepavali (Indian), Hari Raya (Muslim), Christmas (Christian) and
Merdeka Day (Independence Day).
